- Key idea: once I sort by start time, any overlap has to be with the last interval I kept.
- I walk through once, either extending the last interval or starting a new one.
- Edge cases: touching intervals like [1,2] and [2,3] merge, and an empty list returns empty.
- Complexity: O(n log n) for the sort, O(n) extra space for the output.

Do I need an account?
No. Download Sparrow and your computer gets 20 free minutes the first time it connects. When you buy more, you get a code to paste into the app. There's no email, password or profile to manage.
Is it a subscription?
No. Minutes come in one-time packs. Nothing renews, and there's nothing to cancel.
What counts as a minute?
Time counts while a session is running — from Start listening until you end it — including any coding problems you solve during it. Browsing history, settings or the home screen is free.
What happens when I run out?
Sparrow warns you before you start a session with less than 30 minutes left. If you reach zero mid-session, the answer being written finishes, then the session ends and you can top up.
Which computers does it run on?
Macs with Apple silicon on macOS 14 Sonoma or later, and 64-bit Windows 10 (version 2004 or later) or Windows 11. It works with any call app — Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Webex, Slack or a phone call through your computer — because it listens to your computer's audio.
Which languages does it understand?
Sparrow transcribes and answers in English today.
Will the other people on the call see Sparrow?
Sparrow runs in its own small window, separate from your call app. On Windows it asks the system to leave its window out of screen captures. On macOS that request isn't honored by every sharing app, so share a specific window rather than your whole screen. No method covers every recording tool.
Where do my conversations go?
To produce answers, audio and text are sent through Sparrow's server to the speech and AI providers. Nothing is stored there. Your transcripts and answers are saved only on your computer.
Does it need the internet?
Yes. Transcription and answers run in the cloud, so Sparrow needs a connection while you use it.
Can I get a refund?
Yes, for a code you haven't added to Sparrow yet, within 14 days of purchase. If something went wrong with Sparrow itself, write to us. The refund policy has the details.
