Sparrow

Keyboard shortcuts

Every Sparrow shortcut on macOS and Windows: hide and show, answer the latest speech, click-through, switch answers and quit.

The hide and show, Answer latest and click-through shortcuts work everywhere, even while another app is in front. The others work while Sparrow is the active window.

Turn on Settings → Disguise → Enable launch shortcut to open or show Sparrow with Cmd+Option+Shift+Space, even after you quit it. A small helper starts when you log in to listen for the shortcut. Turn it off in the same place.

Mouse and window

  • Drag any empty part of the top bar to move the window.
  • Drag the bottom-right corner to resize it. The smallest size is 440 × 420 points.
  • Hide in the top bar hides the window. Listening and answers carry on; bring it back with Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+Space.

Tips

  • Turn on click-through when you want Sparrow over your call window but still need to click the call controls underneath. Press the shortcut again, or show the window with Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+Space, to click Sparrow again.
  • If another app already uses one of these shortcuts, Sparrow can’t register it and turns off Hide so the window can’t get stuck hidden. Close the other app’s shortcut and reopen Sparrow.
